Men's Trauma Recovery Group
Time: Wednesdays 6:30 - 8:30pm weekly, starting April 14, 2010

Group Description
This 15-week group is designed to support men in developing or enhancing skills for managing
the long-term effects of physical, psychological, or sexual trauma.
The topics of this 15-week group are:
- What is traumatic stress?
- Understanding trauma reenactment
- Learning new coping skills
- Coping with emotions
- Cultivating courage - moving beyond anxiety and fear
- Dealing with anger
- Grief and loss
- Finding secure attachment
- Body awareness
- How trauma impacts our sexuality
- Trauma and relationships
Following the conclusion of the 15-week group participants have a choice to continue on their
healing journey through on ongoing men's trauma support group.
The group curriculum is based on the Tapestries model of healing trauma developed by Anita
Rubin-Meiller, LMSW, and Dawn McCalla, LMSW.
The group size is limited to 8 men. Group begins in April and in October.
